Convert Audio to Word
Best for
- People who need a .docx they can edit in Word or Google Docs
- Podcasters and interviewers who want speaker names in the export
- Anyone who also needs captions (SRT or VTT) from the same transcript
Not for
- YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram URL paste
- Unlimited monthly hours (every Scribebit plan has a minute cap)
- Live captions during a call
How to get the Word file
Upload mp3, mp4, wav, m4a, or webm (up to 10 files at a time). You can also paste a podcast RSS feed or a direct media URL. Linked accounts can send a file through Telegram. YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram links are not supported.
Transcription runs in the background. Optional email when it is ready. Open the recording, click a phrase to jump the player there, rename speakers, and edit the text. Then export Word. Presets are Clean, Blog-ready, Podcast, Meeting notes, and Timestamped. Speaker labels are optional on the download.
English accuracy on the current model is 94.1%. Try one file, 20 minutes, no signup. Sign in later with email and password or Google.
What is in the Word file
The DOCX is the transcript you edited, not a screenshot of the player. Use Blog-ready or Podcast if you want something closer to a publishable draft. Use Timestamped if you need time codes in the document. The same recording also downloads as PDF if you want a file people can read without Word.
Captions are a separate download: SRT or VTT from the same transcript. TXT and JSON are there if you need plain text or structured output.
Compared with other audio-to-Word tools
| Scribebit | TurboScribe | Rev | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ingest | File, RSS, media URL, Telegram | YouTube links, high volume | File upload, human jobs |
| Word / PDF / SRT | Yes | Volume and YouTube are the pitch | Human transcript you can download |
| Trial | 20 minutes, no account | Unlimited-hours product | Per-file human jobs |
| Monthly hours | Cap: 120, 1,400, or 8,000 | Unlimited | Per-file human turnaround |
If the job is unlimited hours or a YouTube link, see TurboScribe vs Scribebit. If you need certified human transcription, use Rev. Live calls belong in Otter.
Other downloads from the same transcript
Ask AI can pull quotes, summaries, and action items without re-listening. Show notes, a blog draft, social posts, meeting notes, and a report can generate when the transcript is ready. Fitting artifacts can run automatically. Share a public link if someone else only needs to read it. They do not need an account.

Questions
Can I paste a YouTube URL and get a Word file? No. Download the audio first, or use a tool that ingests YouTube. Scribebit takes a file, an RSS feed, a direct media URL, or Telegram.
How long can the trial file be? One recording, 20 minutes, no account.
Does the Word export include every language? Scribebit detects 99 languages. Pro and Business can raise accuracy on 18 of them (including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Mandarin, and Arabic).
